When teaching babies and toddlers about the world around them using books, it is hard to decide which ones to purchase. A book that is educational and sturdy with many pictures is the best choice.
Baby's First Library Series
The first set of children's books that are both educational and sturdy are a series of 4 books titled, Baby's First Library. Each book is considered a board book as well as a picture book. They have sturdy, cardboard-like pages that can stand up to a toddler's rough handling, and every page in each book has a picture with the appropriate word of the object or animal/person below it.
The pictures in each book are very simple and cartoonish; very similar to what each picture would look like if a child drew it. The pictures are simple and have bold outlining which is good for infants and young babies whose eyes are still developing and cannot see detailed pictures. On the other hand, the pictures are so simple that sometimes the object does not look like the real thing.
