Welcome to a wonderful compilation of color activities and ideas to entertain and train your child! These projects are meant to be done on a continual basis, using one or all of the ideas. The more exposure children get to the identifying of colors, the faster it will stick. Most of all, have fun!
Color Hike
Go on a color hike with the children. Decide what color you will look for before you leave the house. Then go on the hike and look for anything you can find with that color in it. Kids love to take pictures, so bring along your cell phone or camera and let them snap a picture of whatever they find. Then you can review it when you get back, asking them to remember everything that you found, and letting them look at the picture again to reinforce the items that you found. You can do this once a week, choosing a different color each time.
Color Hike Two: Another way to do this is go on your hike and look for things in the color of the rainbow. Each child can mark on their paper the colors they found and no child can find the same thing. Do not go back until all children have filled in their rainbows.
